I received this email and thought I would pass it along. Not sure we'll be doing this any time soon... I can't even handle the ride from Latham to Niskayuna! That said, it sounds like it could be a fun day. And ticket prices are very affordable!

If you go (or have gone!) please let me know!

When juggling multiple children it seems as though every trip and outing is an adventure. Have you ever thought about "adventuring" to Syracuse, just three hours west of Albany?

Now is a great time of year for a quick, easy and inexpensive family getaway. With so much to do in Syracuse, you'll have the experience of an action-packed trip (with minimal "are we there yet"s)!

I'm sure your readers would be interested in learning more about all of the kid-friendly activities Syracuse has to offer:

•Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park: Home to more than 900 animals, approximately 60 percent of the zoo's exhibits are indoors, making it a perfect venue for year round fun. Stop by and say hello to the zoo's largest animal, Indy, the male Asian elephant weighing more than 11,000 pounds. http://rosamondgiffordzoo.org/

•The MOST:The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) is an interactive museum housing lessons on life sciences, earth sciences, kinetic sculpture, astronomy and more to entertain and educate the entire family. Explore the museum's five-floor Science Playhouse. Gaze at the stars in the museum's fifty-seat planetarium. And, catch a movie on the six-story high domed screen of the Bristol IMAX Omnitheater. http://www.most.org

•Open Hand Theater:This puppetry theater company serves more 10,000 children each year through education programs and workshops. For 30 years, Open Hand Theater has collaborated with other organizations like the Skomorokh Theater of Tomsk, Siberia for an international tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream and From Across Deep, the Syracuse Opera company for a production of The Magic Flute and Upstate Ballet to present Sleeping Beauty. http://www.openhandtheater.org/

Kids also seem to enjoy Syracuse Crunch hockey games, SU football and basketball games and Syracuse Chiefs baseball during spring and summer. Plus, with the holiday's quickly approaching, our annual Lights on the Lake drive-through light show is sure to thrill little ones - featuring two miles of life-size displays, themed sections and a memorable grand finale all made up of twinkling holiday lights along the shores of Onondaga Lake.
