SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Tourism officials are testing new ideas to attract and keep people in Syracuse. Officials with the Convention and Visitors Bureau unveiled the so-called "Surprise Me" Pass Monday.
For $20, the pass includes a ticket to the MOST and the Rosamond Gifford Zoo and discounts to other Syracuse area museums, eateries and businesses. Officials say the pass is designed to elicit longer stays from out-of-town visitors, especially from Albany, Buffalo and Ottowa.
"The more knowledgeable our visitors are on the various attractions we have and how diverse those attractions are, the longer that potential stay will be. And if they don't catch everything on the first trip, because they've already paid for the pass, there's an incentive for them to come back,” said Convention and Visitors Bureau President David Holder.
Anyone interested in the "Surprise Me" pass can buy one right now. The pass is good for one year.
