SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The results are in and new marketing by the Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau is drawing people in. Those results come out of the Syracuse Advertising Return of Investment and Image study.
The study measured the effectiveness of Bureau's marketing campaign. The goal of the campaign was to bring visitors to Syracuse and get them to want to come back. Results show the variety of advertisements had favorable impact on Syracuse's image.
Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney sees the campaign as a success and is proud of the results.
"People who aren't from here have a different impression of us. The advertising showed them some things about our community that they are now saying they want to come and see and he told us how to position ourselves to make sure we're going after the right markets, the right kind of people that will want to come to Syracuse and Central New York," Mahoney said.
The Visitors Bureau says 36,000 additional trips were made to Syracuse as a result of the marketing campaign.
