WonderWorks at Destiny USA to officially open Nov. 9
First 100 in line on Saturday, Nov. 10 to receive free admission
Syracuse, N.Y. - WonderWorks, an upside-down amusement park for the mind, will officially open its upside-down doors on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m., on Level 3 of Destiny USA's new canyon area. The grand opening celebration continues Saturday, Nov. 10, when the first 100 guests in line will receive free general admission into WonderWorks.
"We are looking forward to welcoming guests inside to experience WonderWorks for the first time," said Jackie Vasquez, corporate director of sales and marketing, WonderWorks. "With the world's largest suspended ropes course and more than 100 hands-on interactive exhibits, WonderWorks offers something for everyone and is sure to be fun for all ages."
WonderWorks will be divided into various "zones" for guests of all ages to experience, including natural disasters, light and sound, physical challenge, imagination and space. Visitors will have access to more than 100 hands-on "edutainment" experiences within the "zones," including a bed of nails, a bubble lab, a hurricane shack, mind ball, a virtual roller coaster, a 4D extreme motion ride and much more.
The attraction will also include the world's largest suspended ropes challenge course. The "Canyon Climb Adventure" ropes course will be completely suspended from the ceiling of the canyon area and will be up to 70 feet off the ground. The three-level custom-designed course is currently being installed in the canyon area of Destiny USA. This is the first WonderWorks course that will be suspended from the ceiling and features 35 suspended platforms. Guests will start the course inside WonderWorks and then travel outside of the attraction to continue their experience in the open canyon area of Destiny USA.
"With its distinct look and entertaining, interactive exhibits, WonderWorks is a great addition to Destiny USA," said David Aitken, representing Destiny USA. "We are excited to be able to offer this great attraction to those visiting Destiny USA locally and from across the region."
This will be WonderWorks' first location in the Northeast and one of only five locations in the country. Other WonderWorks locations are in Orlando, Fla.; Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; Panama City Beach, Fla.; and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

About WonderWorks: WonderWorks is an amusement park for the mind combining education and entertainment in over 100 hands-on exhibits that will spark the imagination and challenge the mind. Interactive, educational and fun for all ages, the attraction will offer visitors a variety of experiences, including being blown away by 84 mph hurricane-force winds, maneuvering the controls of a NASA spacecraft to land the shuttle, lying on a bed of 3,500 nails, piloting a fighter jet, designing and riding a 360-degree virtual roller coaster and competing in a game of lazer tag.
The legend is that WonderWorks was once a top-secret research laboratory where scientists from around the world collaborated to find answers to the unexplainable. Something went horribly wrong during their experiment to harness a man-made tornado and the power was unleashed throughout the laboratory, carrying it thousands of miles from the Bermuda Triangle. When visitors enter WonderWorks, they will pass through an inversion tunnel that will turn their perspective upside down. Once inside, guests will find all of the exciting interactive activities miraculously left intact after the tornado and available for everyone to enjoy.
