Syracuse, NY- It's about to get a little chillier on Destiny USA's Level 3 with the arrival of The Ice Museum. The new venue will offer a fun and unique experience for visitors.
The Ice Museum will feature world class ice sculptures with an ice bar. The venue will come complete with ice seats and ice glasses. Guests will even receive a parka and gloves upon entering the The Ice Museum.
Owner and Operator of The Ice Museum, Stan Kolonko, is a world-renowned ice carver who has previously won the World Ice Art Carving Championship in Fairbanks, Alaska, with the sculpture Balto's Charge. In 2010, Kolonko and Chris Uyehara of Skaneateles were invited to Harbin, China where they took first place at that very prestigious event representing the USA.
Mr. Kolonko is collaborating with some of the best ice sculptors in the world to create the interior of The Ice Museum. He is a native of Camden, NY and has resided in Auburn since 2000.
Mr. Kolonko used the Aurora Ice Museum located at the Chena Hot Springs Resort in Fairbanks, Alaska as inspiration for The Ice Museum at Destiny USA. His love for sculpting has brought him throughout the world for competitions; as a local Syracuse area resident, he wanted to introduce his enthusiasm for the art to Syracuse and to Destiny USA.
"Ice carving is my first passion and will be introduced to Destiny USA in a unique and fun way," Kolonko stated. "The Ice Museum will be perfect for a friend's night out to explore the new carvings and something different in Syracuse to try."
The ice carvings will change seasonally with a Winter Wonderland theme this Holiday season, Valentine's theme in February and Halloween theme in October, etc.
"This is an exciting new feature for Destiny USA and another great addition to our Level 3," David Aitken stated. "Mr. Kolonko is very talented and we're looking forward to watching the build out and development of these intricate carvings."
The Ice Museum will be located on Destiny USA's Level 3 and take approximately 4,200 square feet. It will join only a handful of similar venues across the globe including Minus5 IceBar in Las Vegas and the Aurora Ice Museum at Chena Hot Springs Resort in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The Ice Museum at Destiny USA is owned and operated by Stan Kolonko of Auburn, NY. Kolonko is a native of Auburn and has traveled the world for ice sculpting competitions.
